Obsessive Compulsive Disorder

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, is a condition where people have repetitive thoughts or worries (called obsessions) that can cause a lot of anxiety. To try to ease their anxiety, they perform certain actions or rituals (called compulsions). OCD can make life challenging and distressing. ​ How Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) Works: ERP is a special therapy for OCD. It helps by gradually exposing you to the things that make you anxious in a safe way. We work together to make a list of situations or triggers that cause anxiety. Then, we practice facing those situations while resisting the urge to perform the usual rituals or behaviors. Through this process, you'll learn that the feared outcomes are unlikely to happen and that you can handle the anxiety without relying on the compulsions. ​ Our goal is to help you gain control over OCD and improve your daily life. We'll support you in confronting your fears and finding healthier ways to cope with them. Remember, you have the strength to overcome OCD and lead a more fulfilling life. ​     ​   ​
